Chapter Eleven

“You want some orange juice?” Gunner smiled over at Caterina. He put the pancakes he was making on a plate. He wanted to surprise her with breakfast in bed but as soon as he felt those arms wrap around his waist, he knew she was awake.

The kitchen was filled with the heavenly scent of pancakes and bacon. It made Caterina’s stomach rumble as she gave Gunner’s back soft kisses. She then laid her cheek flat against his skin as she nuzzled against him. “I’ll get the orange juice. You’re already busy making us breakfast.”

Gunner turned around and pulled her into his strong arms. Gazing down at the woman in his arms, he was amazed at her natural beauty. For Caterina there was no need for makeup or fancy clothes. She had an ethereal beauty that women were already spending thousands of dollars trying to imitate. He pushed a chocolate colored curl out of her face. “Last night was incredible.” His voice still had that huskiness that came from sleep. He smirked as he saw her blush before his eyes.

Feeling the heat on her cheeks, Caterina licked her lips. “I think incredible is too weak of a word to use.” She let out a small laugh. Looking up into his eyes, she slid her palms up over his chest. “Being with you was fantastic. It was like finding my true home.”

“You are home with me, Kitten.” Gunner agreed with her. “You belong with me.” He took one of her hands and kissed right in the middle of her palm. “You are mine, just as I’m yours now.” The thought that she was his old lady made him smile. They were official now. He could brag to everyone that she was his. More importantly, he would protect her from men like Kane.

“Mine. I like the sound of that.” She playfully slid her fingers in his hair and pulled him close. “All mine.”

“You know it baby.” Gunner took her lips in a soft loving kiss as he pulled her body against his. He wanted so much to tell her those three simple words. But was he ready? Was she ready?

“Go get a fucking room. Some of us don’t want to see this first thing in the morning.” A voice grumbled in the kitchen.

Caterina pulled away from Gunner and her head whipped around. She burst out laughing. Beast walked into the kitchen with his boxers hanging skewed on his hips and his mohawk all tousled, hair going every which way. His beard was wild, and he looked like an overgrown little boy. “Good morning to you too.” She snickered.

Before he headed over to the kitchen table, Beast gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Mornin’” he grumbled.

“Hey asshole, watch it. You just can’t go around kissing my old lady now.” Gunner sneered as he pointed a spatula at his brother.

Beast stopped where he was and stared at Gunner. “Are you fucking serious?” His eyes grew wide.

“As a heart attack.” Gunner continued to make breakfast for him and Caterina.
